Removing our make-up every day might be a given (except on those especially late nights we’ll hold our hands up to falling asleep in it!) But, let’s be honest, our make-up brushes and beauty tools aren’t usually treated to the same level of attention. And all that product build-up can be bad news – especially when your brushes are as beautiful as the ones from Spectrum Collections. Crafted from the highest-quality synthetic hair, we’ve put together some tips on how to keep these covetable tools squeaky clean, in tip-top condition, and always Instagram-ready!
How often? Once a week.
What you need: A gentle cleanser, like baby shampoo, that doesn’t have a strong scent. Too much fragrance can irritate your skin.
How to: Dispense a few drops of cleanser into the palm of your hand. Wet your brushes, swirl the ends back and forth in the cleanser to really clean the bristles, then rinse thoroughly. Dry them flat (never upright!) with the top of the brush hanging off the edge of a flat surface so the moisture doesn’t damage the bristles.
How often? After every use, especially if you have sensitive or problem skin.
What you need: A sulphate-free soap – the less sudsy, the better. Too much lather will be tough to wring out of your sponge.
How to: Add a little water to your sponge then rub it over the soap to create a lather. Rinse and squeeze out the excess water, and squeeze again in a towel before air-drying.
