What’s In Birchbox Editor Beth’s Handbag?

There’s nothing like having a nose around in someone else’s handbag and seeing what they rely on during their days. We convinced UK senior editorial manager Beth to show off the contents of her bag – see what she has to say about the contents here:

This is the bag I turn to when I don’t have that much to carry or my trusty Birchbox tote is in play too – there’s not a huge amount of space inside and the studs on the bottom make it heavier than most. But I couldn’t resist this Rockie bag (2) – so I’m all about the essentials with this one.

I don’t go anywhere without my current fragrance and this season – as you may remember from my Paris post – I’m all about Tom Ford’s unisex scent Black Orchid (1). I spend my commute to and from work reading and listening to music and flicking through magazines on my overused iPad mini (3). There’s always a mini (or massive) bar of Green & Black’s (4) in my bag to keep me going between meetings. Then there’s my trusty trio of on-the-go foundation fixers (5) for make-up touch ups during the day – Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer in Nude applied with a beautyblender for even coverage, then a quick dusting of T LeClerc’s pressed powder.

These super convenient little toothbrushes (6) have changed my post-lunch routine at work – the carry case of these UltraDEX Wire-Free Interdental Brushes is so handy! They clean between teeth and around the gum line between meals when there’s no time for a full on brush, fighting tooth decay, gum problems and plaque. Plus, once I’ve used them I know I’m not going to have to deal with any awkward smile-related moments for the rest of the day.

Going from day to night in the office is easy with a slick of Christian Dior classic lipstick in Dolce Vita (7). I love a dark nail colour and I’m really not that careful with my manicures, so I always carry around the bottle for fixes – this Révérence de Bastien nail polish in No. 14.

With my pale skin tone I often look a bit washed out in the winter, so I carry around a blusher to add a pop of colour to my cheeks – lately I’ve been interchanging two from theBalm cosmetics: Hot Mama Shadow & Blush and Stainiac lip and cheek stain. Finally, there’s either a Press pass or three for whatever events are on in London at that time – be it London Fashion Week, a festival or two, or – in this case – the London Film Festival (10).
