Oh, January – the month of fresh resolutions and new starts and alarm-snoozing and gloomy winter mornings. If you’re struggling with that back-to-work feeling then we’ve got you covered! To help, we’re looking to the A-list for a little AM inspiration….
DRY BODY BRUSHING
Make like model Miranda Kerr and give yourself a circulation boost before your morning shower. Following a little morning meditation (there’s nothing like starting your day with some me-time!), Miranda uses a body brush to get the blood pumping and aid with lymphatic drainage. Even better? It exfoliates skin, too!
We’ve been obsessed with Lauren Conrad’s pearly whites since her days as a Laguna Beach local and, it turns out, it might just be something to do with a certain detoxifying part of her morning routine – oil pulling. A traditional approach to oral hygiene, oil pulling is when you swish coconut oil around in your mouth for around 20 minutes before spitting it out into the bin. It’s believed to pull toxins from your mouth, and Lauren swears by it for fresh breath and white teeth.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
Natural beauty Jennifer Aniston likes to keep things easy-breezy when it comes to her morning routine (a woman after our hearts!). She makes a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon to gently hydrate first thing, then she washes her face with soap and water to instantly refresh her complexion. We’re on board!
SWEAT IT OUT
Trust us when we say we’d do anything to channel just a fraction of Michelle Obama’s #GIRLBOSS vibe – and if that involves getting up at the crack of dawn to fit in a workout, just like the lady herself, then so be it! Mrs Obama prioritises energy-boosting exercises like jump rope and kickboxing once she realised it boosts her happiness levels to feel great on the inside.
COFFEE AND INSTAGRAM
Thank you Rosie Huntington-Whitely! We’re totally on your wavelength when it comes to this supermodel’s morning ritual. Rosie claims she’s totally useless without a coffee first thing (we feel you!). Plus, we love that she enjoys snuggling up in bed with her pooches while having a scroll through Instagram and Twitter. Flicking through our social feeds is our first port of call in the morning, too!
