Birchbox senior editorial manager Beth has been picking out her beauty stash favourites over the past few months and recommending them to you. Last week, she was in Paris to meet with the other Birchbox editors from Spain, France and the US and these are the products she picked up while she was there:
My Paris trip was the perfect excuse to pick up a few French favourites from the pharmacies in the French capital – and the first product I opened my wallet for was Caudalie’s Eau De Beauté Beauty Elixir. At BBx HQ, both Grace and I rely on this mist which includes grape, rosemary, orange blossom, rose, myrrh and organic balm mint to refresh skin, minimise pores and generally perk up dull city-stressed skin.
You know that tight uncomfortable feeling you get from using some cleansers or skincare products? Formulations for oily skin can be a little renowned for it and in my job I test a lot of products – sometimes they don’t always sit well with my skin type. La Roche Posay Effeclar H Compensating Soothing Moisturiser helps – it’s specifically for oily skin that’s been weakened by drying products and provides skin with the lipids it lacks to protect and reinforce the skin’s barrier function.
The closer I’ve been getting to 30 – five more months! – the more seriously I’m taking skincare… And wishing I’d taken it much more seriously when I was younger! Caudalie VinoPerfect Radiance Serum was my third pharmacie purchase, which I’ve been using from my face down to my décolleté, ahead of moisturiser. The oil-free lightweight milky formulation evens skin tone and counters skin damage including scars, acne marks and sunspots. It’s a favourite I share with our lovely Birchbox FR editor, Mathilde.
Shout out to Mollie, Bene and Rachel from Birchbox US for this fab gift while we were in Europe – Kerastase Elixir Ultime combines maize, argan, camellia and pracaxi oils in a nourishing, cuticle-repairing serum. Since I got back, I’ve been alternating this with my Mystic Diamond serum – which has real diamond powder in it! – and loving how nourished my hair feels.
The joys of travel mean the joys of Duty Free and I always find myself finding a fragrance to buy, or topping up my latest favourite. With the weather getting colder, I was searching for a deeper, richer scent to spritz on in the AM and Tom Ford Black Orchid ticked all the boxes – meet my winter fragrance.
One thing I didn’t need to pick up this time? Bioderma Sensibio H2O or Sebium H2O, thanks to the fact we’re selling them in the Birchbox e-shop until October 18th. What are you waiting for? Pick up a (kind to skin and so effective) taste of French skincare now!
